I had the pleasure of composing and recording a couple of pieces for the soundtrack of Ciaran Lyons' new film Tummy Monster, which premieres at Glasgow Film Festival this month. You can read more about it in this month's Skinny.
Scotland on Screen: Ciaran Lyons and Lorn Macdonald – The Skinny
Two records I produced landing on the same day?! Go figure.
The debut EP from Glasgow's neverfine is out today, with production, engineering, mixing and additional guitars and synths from me. Its singles have all received a bunch of BBC Introducing play already, which has been lovely to see. neverfine are hugely imaginative and ambitious artists and I've loved working with them. Their new material is shaping up to be even better, just saying...
Restless Dreams, the new EP by Gravelle, is out now. Production, mixing, drums and various synths and programming from me. Extremely proud of this record, we really pushed the extremities of Gravelle's signature sound, and I look forward to pushing things even forward on our next collaboration.
While you're at it, check the amazing accompanying short film by Lucinda Lewis.
The debut EP from my band Day Sleeper is out now. It was hugely rewarding to put together, and a big test of my own abilities - in addition to producing, engineering and co-writing each song, my guitar, keys, drums and vocals are on every song, which is very much not my usual comfort zone! I really enjoyed performing so many different roles at once, and I'm overjoyed by how positive the reception to our pre-release singles has been, with BBC Scotland plays racked up for every song so far and a wonderful response from our listeners. Thanks, everyone.
A couple of videos from this summer's festival performances with Young Fathers, including Glastonbury 2023. I'm honoured to be behind the kit for Young Fathers for their EU tour dates with Depeche Mode, as well as some of their summer festival itinerary.

Kapil Seshasayee's new studio album Laal is out now. I produced, engineered and mixed the record, with mastering handled by Sam John at Precise Mastering.
"Traverses hyper-pop, synth-pop and rock terrain" - Rolling Stone India ★★★★☆ - The Scotsman ★★★★☆ - The Skinny I had the distinct privilege of working with one of my favourite local bands last year, and the resulting single is now available everywhere. Featuring production, engineering, mixing, programming and additional drums from me, and a music video by Lucinda Lewis. Kapil's latest single is out now, with guest vocals from Polymath of Pakistani hop hop collective Daranti Group and production, engineering, mixing and programming from myself. The song also comes with a stunning animated music video that you can see below. We're currently in Brighton attending and performing at The Great Escape Festival to promote it. Really looking forward to heading to Future Echoes in Norrköping, Sweden this month with Kapil for a series of performances and songwriting sessions. Next month, we'll be in Toronto, supporting our friends Crywank. Additional dates and/or cool things TBA.
